A November to Remember

Although some people might be feeling Christmas in the air already, it’s not upon us just yet so there’s lots of other things to think about and do before December rolls around.

Noosa Triathlon Multi-sport Festival – October 31 to November 4

Slightly cheating here as it starts on October 31, but who’s counting? This event does what it says on the tin – it offers opportunities for sportspeople and athletes of all disciplines and all ages to come along and do their thing. There’s everything from a Breakfast Fun Run to the final event – the Noosa Triathlon, which puts athletes through their paces with a 1.5km swim, a 40km bike ride and a 10km run. The Mary River Festival – November 10

This single day festival runs from 10.00pm to 7.30pm at the Kandanga Recreations Ground on the second Saturday of November each year. It’s dedicated to the unique environment around the area and features face painting, drama, music, environmental classes and workshops for Zumba and juggling. The Awakening Festival – November 9 to November 11

Held at Rocky Creek Campsite in Landsborough, this three-day festival aims to teach people how to live a sustainable life, or an even more sustainable life than they already are doing. There will be workshops, talks, music and gatherings, as well as informative displays and precincts for visitors to wander through at their own pace. Hot 91.1 Ignite Chili Festival at Caloundra – November 17

Caloundra’s Chamber of Commerce is turning up the heat with its second chili festival. The downtown area of Caloundra will see loads of cooking demonstrations so visitors can come away with a bit of inspiration, food stalls, merchandise and live entertainment as well as a chili-eating competition.
